NDI Survey Mission visits Hong Kong in December 1997 and Promise of Democratization Report 3

The NDI sent a five-person survey mission to Hong Kong from 2 – 5 December 1997.

The mission comprised:

·         Eugene Eidenberg (mission leader), NDI board member and former senior White House official during the Carter administration;

·         Sue Wood, former head of the National Party of New Zealand;

·         Eric C. Bjornlund, NDI Senior Associate and Director of Asia Programs;

·         Sophie Richardson, NDI Program Officer;

·         Andrew Fuys, NDI Program Assistant.

The purpose of this mission was to continue to explore the state of autonomy and democracy in the HKSAR.
